Bulletin: Claiming Education Tax Credits – 1098-T Statements Available Online (Posted January 30, 2008)
To assist taxpayers in determining eligibility for Education Tax Credits* and in accordance with US Internal Revenue Service regulations, Stanford files an annual Tuition Statement (Form 1098-T) for eligible students. Eligible students include students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents pursuing a degree, and for whom a reportable transaction has occurred (i.e. payment of tuition or ASSU fees or receipt of scholarships or grants).
In January 2008, Stanford mailed individual Form 1098-T statements to all eligible students with enrollment activity for January – December, 2007.
Eligible students may electronically view and print their individual 1098-T form by going to the Affiliated Computer Services web site at http://www.1098-t.com and then clicking “Access My Record”.
